General Recommendations

• Reserech Visa requirements for your Nationality (if it required to get the visa in advance or you can get it at the airport upon arrival).
• Know The itinerary and understand all the included sites.
• Any Optional activities not prepaid, it could be paid in any currency in Cash.
• Most of the not included meals during the tour will cost average $10-15USD or less, and expected to be paid in Cash.
• ATMs are available everywhere in Egypt but make sure to call your bank to activate it before your tour, Exchange Rate is average (1$USD equal 47.5 – 48 EGP) at the moment.
• Dress Code: only required while visiting a religious place such as Mosques and churches (dress must cover the shoulders and Knees for men and women).
• Check the weather during your tour:
  • Long sleeves and a coat with you for the cold nights (winter nights can reach 5°C).
  • Comfortable shoes are a must.
  • Hats and light cloth for sunny days (especially Luxor and Aswan), and swimming suit for the pool.
  • If you use a walking stick, please bring it.
• Travel insurance is required, please purchase insurance that covers health, accidents, lost luggage…etc.
• Passport Copy is required before the tour.
• Laundry is available in all hotels and Nile cruise with charge per piece.
• Stay hydrated and always drink mineral water every 10 min, not only when you feel thirsty.
• Please provide us with any special medical information, food requirements or allergies.
• Internet and WIFI in Egypt is weak. It’s highly recommended to get an Egyptian SIM card at the airport (max 500 EGP or $10 USD). Make sure your phone is unlocked or bring an old phone for hotspot use.
• Any entry fees are required to be paid with credit cards.
• For the tour Payment, in case of any commission (bank transfer or visa payment), this is the company responsibility and will be deducted from the total payment.
• Always keep $300 USD cash in a safe place (like a money belt) for emergencies.
• For safety, stay with the group or your tour guide. Never follow strangers offering services. (Whatever you don’t do back home, don’t do while travelling).
• Electricity: Egypt uses 220–240 V with plug types C & F. Bring a converter/adapter and a power bank for your devices.
• Be open minded, respect others, and be flexible in case of itinerary changes (weather, flight delays, etc.).

Tipping

Tipping is a way of life in the Middle East, as Egyptians themselves tip anyone who provide them any service so it’s expected also from the tourists to pay the same or even more.
To make it very simple and easy, and avoid any embarrassing situation, your tour guide will collect an average tip and use it to tip anyone giving any included service to the group.

• Restaurants and meals not included: 10–15% of the bill.
• Toilet stops: average 10 EGP.
• Egyptologist tour guide: Average $30 USD per day for private tours.
• Drivers: $10 USD per day, $25 USD for Abu Simbel tour.
• Nile cruise or Dahabia crew: $10 USD per person per night.
• Porters: $1–2 USD per check-in/out.

Shopping Experience

Egypt is very famous with a lot of souvenirs which you can take home with you, During the tour there will be a chance to learn in details about these goods, and a lot of travelers like to see it or buy it, but also some travelers want only to see, but not interested in Buying.

So, in our tour we will visit only a government stores which is unique in some points:

• All the workers there are working with salaries not commission, so there is Zero hassle, because if the clients bought something or not it won’t affect anyone income.
• All products are real quality not fake like what they sell in the commercial shops in the Hotels or outside the tourist sites.
• It is safe to pay with credit cards in case if someone decided to buy something, and you will get a certificate for anything you buy.
• You will learn the deference between the real quality and the fake one.

• Papyrus Institute — to see How the Ancient Egyptians used to make the 1st papers in the world, and check some of the best hand painting collection of a real Papyrus
• Perfume factory — to check the most famous types of Oils Egypt produce and export (either Medical or perfume).
• Cotton house — for the Famous Egyptian Cotton products
• Stone factory — to see how they make the different statues from different types of stones.
• Jewellery shop (on Nile Cruise) — on your Nile Cruise and you can have the chance to put your name in Hieroglyphic letters in a famous Egyptian shape called Cartouche, and some of the finest collection of handmade pieces in Gold or Silver.
• Spices shop — since Egypt is very famous with the best types of spices, so it is consider a heaven for those who love cooking and food, and consider a great gift for family members back home.
